Sandra began her counseling career by working closely with clients whose families were undergoing separation and divorce. She also assisted children and couples experiencing tensions and dysfunction in their lives. Sandra is a client-centered counselor who believes in providing a non-judgmental, safe space for her clients. She works extensively with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and parents to improve their emotional health and relationships.

Sandra is passionate about relationships, particularly helping couples facing distress to explore past issues, restore communication, and increase closeness, affection, and respect. She has successfully facilitated positive change and improved children’s psychological adjustment to life transitions. With children, Sandra utilizes play therapy, art therapy, sand tray therapy, and Lego play as mediums to communicate, make assessments, and provide interventions. She advocates for strength-based interventions and is trained in Discernment Counseling, Gottman Method Couple Therapy Levels 1 and 2, Gestalt Play Therapy (Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced Levels), and Trauma-informed Play Therapy. Additionally, she is a Certified Prepare and Enrich Facilitator and an Accredited Triple P Level 3 and Family Transitions Provider.

In her therapeutic practice, Sandra employs various evidence-based approaches, including Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. Her international experience, having lived and worked in Canada (Toronto and Vancouver), France (Paris), and Singapore, gives her a multiculturally sensitive perspective.

Before transitioning to counseling, Sandra worked in the financial and marketing industries, giving her insight into managing work stress, work-life balance, career transitions, and workplace dynamics. Her personal experience with numerous transitions has made her deeply aware of the challenges surrounding international relocations and cross-cultural issues.

Sandra is a Clinical Member and a Registered Counselor of the Singapore Association for Counseling (SAC) and is currently working towards becoming a Registered Clinical Supervisor.
