After dedicating herself to journalism, Nga Linh discovered her calling as a counsellor, driven by a desire to assist individuals in finding paths that align with their unique needs. With a diverse background that includes studying and working in Hanoi, Saigon, Nevada, California, and Beijing, she now calls Singapore home. Since 2016, she has dedicated herself to fostering mental wellness and enhancing people’s lives through her counselling practice.

Nga Linh’s clientele spans a wide range, from elderly to youth, individuals to families, and locals to expatriates. Her approach is centred on creating a safe space for clients to reconnect with their inner selves and regain control. She utilizes a diverse range of therapeutic approaches including Discernment Counselling, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT), Gottman Method, Prepare and Enrich to help couples navigate past issues, restore communication, and strengthen their relationships. When working with families through Play Therapy or Good Enough Parenting, Nga Linh focuses on reducing parental conflict, fostering healthy co-parenting/parenting relationships, and supporting children’s psychological adjustment in complex family dynamics. In individual therapy, she employs Schema Therapy, EMDR, Trauma-Informed Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to support clients in overcoming personal and workplace trauma, depression, anxiety, and other mental health conditions.

Nga Linh sees herself walking alongside her clients, whether as a guide or a companion, through their personal journeys. Her approach is rooted in a profound respect for each individual’s capacity for change and their intrinsic drive towards happiness. She places great importance on the quality of each session, believing that meaningful progress stems from genuine connection and heartfelt engagement.

While playing a small role in assisting others, Nga Linh understands the immense stress faced by mental health professionals. She finds solace in nature through Thich Nhat Hanh’s walking meditation and delights in uncovering Singapore’s hidden gems. She draws inspiration from Wong Kar-wai’s films for their beauty and deep insights into human relationships. Pilates and Sivananda yoga are her pillars for rejuvenation. Whether immersed in Frida Kahlo’s art or Jimmy Liao’s illustrations, she values the connections they evoke. At the end of the day, her greatest joy lies in preparing cuisine from around the world in her kitchen, witnessing the happy faces of her loved ones savouring each dish—a therapeutic pleasure she fondly calls “cooking therapy”.

Nga Linh looks forward to working with you and learning about your world in the sessions ahead. She provides therapy in English, Mandarin and Vietnamese.
