She is well-versed in providing Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), a therapeutic approach aimed at empowering both children and their families to effectively manage emotional, mental, and behavioural issues.

Over the last five years, Marlot has worked both in the Netherlands and South America, in specialized residential youth care, where she supported multi-problem families from diverse cultural backgrounds dealing with mental disabilities and behavioural challenges. By establishing a compassionate, supportive, and transparent therapeutic alliance, Marlot works with children and their families to overcome their challenges step by step. Through this approach, she assists her clients in developing new coping skills and guides them toward recognizing their potential and fostering personal growth. She is committed to empowering parents by imparting the knowledge and skills necessary to cultivate a nurturing environment for their children.

Marlot also worked with disabled adults confronting epilepsy and related issues. She collaborated with them, their families, and caregivers, in developing individualized care plans. She is also an experienced trainer, and conducts workshops for social workers, teachers, and parents, covering topics such as child abuse, sexual abuse, and trauma.

Marlot believes in exploring issues collaboratively with clients and emphasizes the importance of psycho-education to enhance their understanding of struggles, enabling them to effectively cope and manage challenges.
